Retaining ring for universal joint – Ural, Dnepr, K750, M72, CJ750
This retaining ring is used to secure the bearing caps in the universal joint (cross joint). It ensures that the needle bearings are securely seated in the joint and cannot shift axially under load or vibration. A small but absolutely safety-relevant component in the cardan drive.
Ideal for repairs or overhauls on the cardan joint, especially if old retaining rings are corroded, bent, or have already been installed multiple times.

Worn or incorrectly fitted retaining rings often lead to axial play in the universal joint. This results in rattling noises, uneven running and, in the worst case, damage to the universal joint or cardan shaft. The retaining rings should always be replaced when the universal joint is overhauled.
